Jerry Andrus passed away this month. He was famous for "Linking Safety Pins" and "Zone 0".

Ring 258 is growing rapidly. Current membership is 34. We need to look for a larger meeting site. If you have any suggested locations please contact Jim Moody – crowdteaser@embarqmail.com or 352-315-1100.

The next Lunch Meeting will be held at the Harborside Restaurant so that we can look over their upstairs room for possible use for our holiday party. Members, spouses and guests would never all fit in our current location. The lunch group will decide if this is the right place for the holiday party. We will have a Chinese Gift Exchange again for the holiday party. Bring one gift with a value around $10 to be entered into the gift exchange. There will be both men's and women's gifts.

Magic Week is October 25 – 31. Who wants to perform at the NY CafĂ©? October 29 & 30 are open. Who will be performing elsewhere? Let Jim Moody know - crowdteaser@embarqmail.com or 352-315-1100

Nominations for 2008 Officers will take place at the October meeting. Please consider becoming an officer and handling some of the workings of your club. The President cannot do it all. Please volunteer when committees are formed and chairmen are needed to do some of the work

Our elected Secretary has been missing in action due to a change in his duties at work, which keeps him on the road. Roger Reid has offered to continue to fill in for Bill until he can make the meetings again.

We need a better way to handle the club library. When the caretaker cannot make the meeting there is no library. Suggestions are solicited. Tom Golabek donated his DVD to our library and Dave McCullen donated 10 video tapes, including Alex Elmsley doing his stuff.

Trivia Question "During a Magic Show what is on stage cuing?" Correct answer came from Jack Palumbo who won a $10 gift certificate to Magic Central.

50/50 Raffle The 50/50 raffle was won by George Smallwood in the amount of $21. All 50/50 Raffle money goes toward the holiday party.

The president announced that October's meeting topic would be switched with November's. So we will have a "teach-in/panel discussion" on ethics etc. November will become Holiday Magic. He then closed the formal part of the meeting and appointed new member Frank Martin as MC for the evening. After meeting performance details will appear in the Linking Ring.

Respectfully submitted, Roger L. Reid, Acting Secretary.
