New Business
Web Site – Greg Solomon recommended Craig Schwarz to revitalize the Ring 258 web site, which went defunct with the passing of our web master Magic Ian. Craig is the designer and host of the Ring 170 web site. Members can Google "Ring 170" and take a look at his work. He has quoted us a price of $150 to set up a new club web site and $5/month for hosting and updating. It was approved unanimously to take advantage of this offer. A meeting between Craig and Ring 258 officers will be held to get things started.
50/50 Raffle – Owing to the small turnout this evening, the 50/50 prize was $1, which was won by President Jim Moody.
After Meeting Theme – The theme for the evening was "Perform Impromptu Magic with Everyday Items". MC for the evening was Chuck "The Hobbling Magician" Stylesmith.
First up was Roger Reid, performing as Charlie Pfrogner, from Ring 170. From Charlie's paper bag he performed Nail through Nail, Linking Paper Clips on a Dollar Bill and Pen & Coin Vanish. Guest Mary Ellen followed with her "magic fingers" as she is a professional massage therapist. Marti Scott created a paper rose from a napkin… behind her back! MC Chuck Smith performed a Magician's Force using items gathered from the dining tables here at Denny's. Jim Moody performed a Torn and Restored Napkin effect with a double kicker ending and passed one cork through another! V.P. Greg Solomon closed the evening doing hand manipulations with a knife, a well done torn and restored bill and the Clipit Brothers, a nice presentation and addition to Paper Clips on the Dollar Bill.
Next months "Theme" is "Perform Paper Magic – Newspaper, Bags, Tissue, etc."
Respectfully submitted,
Roger L. Reid
Secretary, IBM Ring 258
