July 28th meeting: Once again, Ian Sutz, AKA Magic Ian had prepared a program for the club members. He prefers to call it a silk lesson, but it was really a well put together lecture on silk effects and silk handling. Ian went into some of the classics like Silk Symphony by Slydini, and explained how to make your own twentieth century silks, and fountain of silks. He opened the teach-in with several silk productions from the classic Tarbel, and then went into thumb tip effects, dye tubes, silk vanishes, splitting silks, and using silks as cover for steals. Ian then showed some basic classic effects that use silks. The lecture was well attended by almost all of our members and was followed by some member effects. Jim Moody showed his expert handling of the Jerry Andrus effect “zone zero.
The next meeting will be a mentalist theme.
