Our December Ring Meeting/Holiday Party took place at The Great Hall of Royal Highlands, in Leesburg, Florida.  The event began at 6:00 PM with a social hour, which included a variety of games.  Ring President Jim Moody invited everyone to enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner precisely at 7:00 PM.  Dinner was excellent!

After dinner President Moody ran a very brief, but official, business meeting so that the new officers for 2011 could be installed. The installation was performed by Past President and long time Ring member "Dandy" Dan Dyer.

Jim thanked all those who performed at the fund raising show at Congregation Sinai, in Mineola, the previous evening.  The Ring received a check for $500 for its efforts.  Performers were, M.C. Jim Moody, Wally Libenson, Aaron Solomon, Dan Dyer, Magic Ian, Roger Reid and Chris Dunn as Maryshka!  Greg Solomon and Bob Morris provided back stage support.  Both Greg and Magic Lee Langer performed walk around magic in the audience prior to the start of the show.

After the business meeting members and guests were treated to a surprise stage show!  The most surprised of all was Greg Solomon who did not know he was opening the show!  But using his extensive skills and a borrowed deck Greg managed to perform three baffling effects which kept the audience amused.  Following Greg, Poland's Greatest Living Magician, Stash Golabeck, along with his assistants the beautiful Myrna and "Noise Boy", was able to determine the names of the singers of randomly selected songs of yesteryear!  Funny how all the songs were done by Polish singers.

The Chinese Gift Exchange followed with gifts opened and stolen a number of times.  The most coveted prize this year was a gift card to "Bonefish Grill"!  And "body butter" made a return to the exchange.  The evening concluded with "attendance tickets" being pulled so that a number of attendees went home with additional beautiful gifts.

The next meeting of I.B.M. Ring #258 will be on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at a new location: Captain Bells Seafood Restaurant, 3295 Hwy. 27/441, Fruitland Park, FL 34731.

     Respectfully Submitted,

Roger L. Reid, Secretary (Again, Again, etc.)
