Ring 258 Performs at the “Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for the Children”

Members of I. B. M. Ring #258, The Lake County Magic Association, performed walk around magic during lunch, at the "Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for the Children", a fund raising event for Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis, FL on Sunday, October 10, 2010.  Almost 1,000 motorcycle riders and police escorts rode the forty plus miles from Ormond Beach, Florida to Camp Boggy Creek to raise money, have lunch provided by Outback Steakhouse, enjoy live music and participate in live and silent auctions.
"The Mission of Camp Boggy Creek (created by Paul Newman and General Norman Schwarzkopf) is to enrich the lives of children who have chronic or life-threatening illnesses by creating camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound."   The members of Ring 258 have supported this mission for the past five years through monetary donations and adding to the camp experience by donating their time performing and doing magic "teach-ins".
Table to table performers at this year's event were Greg Solomon, Rich Hewitt, Wayne Dowling and Roger Reid.  Official Ring photographer, John "Santa" Abernathy, immortalized the group through the lens of his camera as a donation check of $500 was handed over to one of the "camp families".
